Dylan McKnight

Born in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom in 1979, Dylan McKnight is a New England-based artist whose impressionistic paintings tell stories of the region's unique landscape and people. A BFA graduate from the Lyme Academy of Fine Art, McKnight's early career spanned drawing, oil painting, printmaking, and sculpture. After taking a break from painting to raise a family and establish a successful career in technology, his recent work conveys a new perspective and depth of emotion informed by life’s experiences. Now predominantly a watercolor painter, he embraces the medium's spontaneity, allowing for the dynamic interplay of pigments as they mingle freely and unveil their unique character on the paper.

McKnight's paintings have been exhibited nationally, with notable mentions at the International Watermedia Exhibition, The Guild of Boston Artists, the New England Watercolor Society, and the Green Mountain Watercolor Exhibition, among others. In 2024, he took on the role of coordinating the New England Watercolor Society’s “Brushes with Nature” plein air painting series to further promote his love for painting outdoors.
